Education
I'm a student at Reed College majoring in philosophy. I've published my work in several academic journals, presented at many graduate-level conferences across the world, and have a 3.92 GPA (CV available upon request). My academic work focuses primarily upon philosophy and political theory, though I am also an avid reader of intellectual history, biology, anthropology, and literary criticism. Right now, I reside in Westchester NY, as I'm on break from Reed due to a migraine issue.
Experience
I have tutored extensively in reading, writing, history, logic, and biology, and offered services as a college counselor (I've been accepted into two Ivy League universities). Recommendations from prior clients available upon request. I tutor partially because I plan to teach professionally - I'm someone who is ultimately going to venture into academia, so it is something of a preparation for my future career. I also love tutoring for its own sake: for me, it is a genuine joy to help a student develop their cognitive and creative capacities. The ultimate goal of all my tutoring is not merely to help students succeed in an area they might be currently struggling with, but also help them develop habits of mind that will allow them to critically engage with the world for their entire life.
